Founders Club Radio Features Notre Dame Academy and Summit Industries

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - March 03, 2015) - On February 4, 2015, Founders Club Radio welcomed to the studio Debbie Orr with Notre Dame Academy and Mike Musso with Summit Industries. Host John Coffin spoke with these guests about defining brand message, influencing and inspiring consumers and leveraging a Board of Directors.

Orr is the Head of School and Founder of Notre Dame Academy, the largest private Catholic School in Gwinnett County. The school was named the first Catholic elementary school in the nation to receive authorization from the International Baccalaureate Organization. The goal of Notre Dame Academy is to integrate the teachings of the Gospel within the context of academic content.

Notre Dame Academy operated under Five Pillars - technology, faith, knowledge, fitness and service. "I think you have to identify who you want to be," explained Orr. "You have to keep it very narrow and very specific, because it's very easy to wander off course. So we have Five Pillars. These Five Pillars are our brand. Every decision we make, everything we do, you go back to those Five Pillars."

Later this year, Notre Dame Academy will begin its high school, expanding to provide a preK-12th grade offering.

Joining in the discussion was Mike Musso, President and CEO of Summit Industries, a 95-year-old consumer products company that manufactures and sells surface care, skin care, and cough & cold products including Lexol, Lantiseptic, Udder Butter and Love Life.

According to Musso, "Our commitment to innovation is that you have to make the pie bigger. You have to continually create new products to make the pie bigger so that in the endgame, the consumer has options and the retailer wins by selling more products."

Summit has taken innovation in lanolin production and applied it to a number of different products. Some of the highest-end cosmetics that were developed in the 1950s and '60s have a lanolin base. "So we're excited to use those core competencies and core know-hows to drive innovation while sticking to those fundamentals," said Musso.
