Founding WHDI Member AMIMON Showcases the WHDI Ecosystem at Computex Taipei

Dr. Yoav Nissan-Cohen, AMIMON Chairman and CEO, Speaks on How WHDI Is Changing the Way Consumers View HD Content From Mobile Devices

TAIPEI, TAIWAN and SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - May 24, 2011) - The high definition (HD) experience of mobile devices is moving to the big screen of the TV with Wireless Home Digital Interface (WHDI). AMIMON, the market leader in wireless HD and universal mobile connectivity, will showcase how WHDI technology delivers interactive HD video from any device to any TV at Computex Taipei 2011, taking place May 31-June 4 in Taipei, Taiwan.

AMIMON will hold demonstrations in meeting room 504c at the Taipei World Trade Center, NanGang Exhibition Hall, 5F on June 2 and 3. The company will show a range of products utilizing WHDI technology to give consumers convenience and flexibility to connect HDTVs wirelessly to video sources, such as notebooks, desktop PCs, mobile phones, set-top boxes and Blu-ray players.

"Mobile devices have evolved to the point where consumers are clamoring to capture the full capabilities of their HD content," said David Shefler, Vice President of Marketing, AMIMON. "AMIMON and WHDI are enabling consumers to do more with content from personal mobile devices, while also providing new distribution channels for content."

AMIMON WHDI Demonstrations

At the AMIMON meeting room, visitors will see WHDI demonstrations of HD content from mobile devices to the TV and PCs to the TV. AMIMON will showcase wireless mirroring of iPad and smartphone screens to the TV featuring HD video games, movies, photos and more. AMIMON will also demonstrate PC to Projector connectivity with a WHDI Stick connected to the notebook HDMI plug, bringing slide presentations, movies, photos and all Internet content (YouTube, Facebook, etc.) to the TV's big screen.

The AMIMON WHDI Stick enables users to wirelessly view all of their A/V content (including tablet, PC or notebook/netbook content) on their TVs. With virtually no latency (less than one millisecond), users can now play their PC games and interactive content on the "big screen" in any room of the house.

The WHDI Stick is a true plug-n-play product, with no software installation needed and it is OS independent.

AMIMON and 35.COM will debut a first-of-its-kind smartphone and wireless monitor solution. The product uses WHDI transmitters and receivers to enable a smartphone with the "brains" and storage to connect with a 10.1" wireless display screen for convenient and fun entertainment and productivity on a larger screen. Consumers use the companion monitor as a tablet to do anything possible on the smartphone. While the phone is in their pocket, purse or briefcase, they can play games, watch movies, browse the Internet or compose documents on the larger screen. The product's commercial launch is set for September 15, 2011.
