Four States Join Forces to Kick Off "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" Crackdown

KANSAS CITY, MO--(Marketwire - Aug 16, 2012) - Representatives from Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas law enforcement agencies joined forces for a media event yesterday morning Wednesday, August 15 in the hotel ballroom at the Downstream Casino and Resort, located on Interstate 44 at the Missouri/ Kansas/Oklahoma state line.

The event, sponsored by the Green Country (OK) Safe Communities group, kicked off the states' participation in the nationwide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" mobilization, which takes place Aug. 17 through Sept. 3. Attendees and participants also included representatives from fire departments, emergency medical organizations, public health departments, judicial systems, and many more.

"This four-state press event is a symbol of the unified effort across the U.S. to cut down on impaired driving crashes," said OHP Lt. Garrett Vowell, statewide impaired driving enforcement coordinator. "Our united message is 'DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE.' If you choose otherwise, law enforcement will be watching, and you will be arrested."
