Four Vines to Pour Entrancing Rhone Varietals at Hospice du Rhône

PASO ROBLES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 11, 2006 -- HOSPICE DU RHONE -- Four Vines Winery, makers of traditional and eclectic wines, will pour and premier some of its bold blends and big varietals at this weekend's Hospice du Rhône (HdR) at the California Mid-State Fairgrounds from May 11-13.

HdR has been recognized for its serious and playful virtues, as well as its efforts to structure seminars, tastings, and dinners that focus on wine regions, varieties and categories. The event brings together hundreds of the world's leading Rhône producers with hordes of wine enthusiasts.

"HdR is the largest celebration of Rhône wines in the world and Paso Robles is known as one of the best regions for producing killer Rhône varietals," observed Christian Tietje, winemaker. "And, combined with the lifestyle and unpretentious local perspective, Paso is also the quintessential place to celebrate life, savory foods, and some of the country's most opulent and sumptuous wines."

Four Vines will showcase a few of its select Rhône varietals out of its dungeon, err cellar, for its following of loyal fans lucky enough to attend the event.

2004 The Peasant - Traditional Rhone Blend with hints of sandalwood on the nose and ripping with sassy fruit, herb and spice.

2004 Heretic - A big, dark monster that shows as a voluptuous, sultry Petite Sirah with a velvety, black fruit aura.

2004 Loco - Dense, ripe, delectable. An eclectic red wine that kicks you in the balls and makes you see stars - you know, the kind you can wish upon.

2004 Anarchy - The Rogue Rhone Blend replacing Grenache with Old Vine Zin. Syrah gives this wine a velvet mouthfeel and rich fruit, Old Vine Zin for spice, a brambly backbone and structure, and Mourvedre provides some anise, making the whole blend resonate.

2003 Syrah Port - Delectable, delightful, silky, with a scrumptious raspberry and a come-hither caramel finish. Best served with chocolate and a willing companion.
