FOX-TEK Announces Acceptance of a Purchase Order from ISIS Canada

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - July 27, 2005) - Fiber Optic Systems Technology, Inc. (the "Company" or "FOX-TEK") (TSX VENTURE:FOX), a developer of patented fiber optic sensing products, today announced acceptance of a purchase order from the Canadian Network of Centres of Excellence on Intelligent Sensing for Innovative Structures ("ISIS Canada"). The purchase order comprises the first sale of FOX-TEK's new FT 3405 multi-channel fiber optic sensor monitor. This unit has improved sensitivity, sampling rate, and repeatability. The unit will be used in various bridge design and monitoring projects.

ISIS Canada is a federally supported research network made up of 14 universities and over 300 researchers and program leaders. ISIS Canada's mandate includes implementing integrated intelligent fiber optic technologies in innovative and intelligent infrastructure. As part of this mandate, over the past decade ISIS Canada has installed several hundred fiber optic sensors on over 23 bridges across Canada, including several systems from FOX-TEK. For further information please see:

Gary Jolly, FOX-TEK's President and CEO said "ISIS Canada has been a FOX-TEK Engineering Collaborator since 2001, and has provided valuable access to civil structures across Canada. FOX-TEK has benefited greatly from placing our systems into service in harsh summer and winter field conditions over the years. As part of our relationship with ISIS Canada, we continue to collect data from these systems for use by researchers and road departments. We also value ISIS Canada's international profile and the opportunity for exposure in upcoming major innovative projects in other parts of the world."
