FOX-TEK Announces Installation of Second Test System with Saudi Aramco

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 25, 2005) - Fiber Optic Systems Technology, Inc. (the "Company" or "FOX-TEK")(TSX VENTURE:FOX), a developer of patented fiber optic sensing products, announced today that it has successfully implemented a second operating field test installation with Saudi Aramco. This second installation is at Aramco's vast Riyadh refinery and joins the first installation at the Abqaiq processing plant. The Riyadh installation is particularly notable because it occurred while the refinery remained in operation at a temperature of 250 degrees Fahrenheit. The ability to install the FOX-TEK system without requiring a refinery shutdown is singular evidence that the system performs well in real world conditions. The system is fully functional and is currently taking readings.

By implementing the Riyadh installation before completion of the first field test project at Abqaiq, Aramco has chosen to extend and accelerate its relationship with FOX-TEK. Said Gary Jolly, FOX-TEK President and CEO, "Testing our technology under operating conditions with Saudi Aramco, the world's largest integrated oil and gas company, is the best showcase of the FOX-TEK system we could ask for. Also, by having installations at two separate and different operations, the system's multiple applications are clearly demonstrated."

Although the field test installations produce nominal revenue, they are crucial steps in the full commercialization of FOX-TEK's new technology. FOX-TEK anticipates that results will be available during the fourth quarter 2005.
