FP Newspapers Income Fund Announces Management Appointment

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 11, 2006) - FP Newspapers Income Fund (TSX:FP.UN) today announced the appointment of Andrew Ritchie as Publisher of the Winnipeg Free Press.

Mr. Ritchie has been part of the senior management team at The Globe and Mail since 1999. An experienced newspaper executive, he began his career in advertising sales at the Daily Mail, a large circulation daily newspaper in the United Kingdom. Mr. Ritchie has been involved in all aspects of newspaper publishing, in leadership roles in the UK, New Zealand and Canada.
