BEDFORD, MA--(Marketwire - February 27, 2008) - Fractal Antenna Systems, Inc. today announced a new Universal Access™ Surface Mounted (UASM) Antenna delivering wideband performance in a thin, compact unit for distributed antenna applications. The UASM Antenna's form factor solves a number of installation issues for integrators, including the ability to mount to walls and other hard surfaces that prevent the use of through holes.

The UASM Antenna's continuous operation from UHF into C-band microwave frequencies covers the requirements of public safety and security through cellular, WiFi, WiMAX and other high-speed wireless network bands. The Antenna's wide frequency range protects in-building wireless infrastructure investment by future-proofing the installation as new standards and frequency allocations emerge.

The UASM Antenna is easily mounted on a hard surface, where its compact fractal antenna design is inconspicuous and low profile. Operating over 380 MHz to 4 GHz, the Antenna provides a hemi-toroidal pattern with typical gain of 2 dBi that can be oriented to deliver vertical, horizontal, or slant linear polarization.
