Frank McCourt, Dodgers Owner, Speaks About "The Next 50" to TOWN HALL LA
LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - June 5, 2008) - Frank H. McCourt, Owner, Los Angeles
Dodgers, will deliver the address "Dodger Stadium - The Next 50 Years,"
to TOWN HALL Los Angeles, on June 18, 2008 at the Wilshire Grand
Hotel. Dodgers fans have the opportunity to ask about the future of the
ball club.
McCourt became the fourth owner of the franchise after receiving unanimous
approval from Major League Baseball on January 29, 2004. On plans to
renovate Dodger Stadium, McCourt says, "We're creating a new stadium
without tearing down the old. That may take more effort and more
resources... This stadium sits in the heart of Los Angeles and in the
hearts of Angelenos. What we're announcing... honors that history by
protecting and modernizing Dodger Stadium and making sure that it lives on
and thrives for the next 50 years."
The Next 50 plan is a multi-faceted stadium improvement plan. As a result
of these improvements, the stadium will become a destination for fans all
year long. The stadium will also be as environmentally responsible a
baseball stadium as there is in America. The new facilities will be
designed to meet Silver LEED sustainability standards, with water
conservation, recycling promotion and other environmental initiatives.
