Franklin Dentist Travels to Russia for Mission Trip

FRANKLIN, TN--(Marketwired - August 31, 2015) - Dr. David Feick, who provides services to straighten teeth without braces, recently completed a mission trip to a remote area of Russia.

The doctor traveled with a team of 12 people to the Caucasus Mountains to teach English to children and adults between the ages of 14 and 21 years old. The mission trip was set up through Dr. Feick’s church.

"It was an incredible experience to work with Russian youth and young adults eager to learn a new language and continue their education," said Dr. Feick, who operates the Franklin dental office Today’s Dentistry. "Our small group was happy to make connections and teach more than 50 people." Dr. Feick has completed charity work all around the world for the past 30 years. He has visited the Russian Caucasus Mountains for the past 15 years to teach English and provide quality dental care for those in need. Many people living in the Caucasus Mountains are stricken with poverty and do not have access to quality education or health care.

Dr. Feick said the group briefly ran into trouble with their travel visa but ultimately was able to stay in the country. If the group had been deported, they would have had to wait five years to return to the country, he added.

"It’s exciting to see God intervene into the situation and prevent disaster from happening to the ministry there," Dr. Feick said. "We look forward to returning next year and continuing our efforts to teach more youngsters."

Dr. Feick, who has practiced dentistry for more than 30 years, serves the communities of Franklin, Brentwood, Nashville and Cool Springs.

Today’s Dentistry, 4095 Mallory Lane, Franklin, is a five-operatory dental office with state-of-the-art technology and comfortable amenities for patients. Dr. Feick places dental implants to replace individual missing teeth or to stabilize dentures.

Dr. Feick takes a special interest in providing patients orthodontic solutions like Invisalign and serves as a certified senior instructor for the International Association for Orthodontics. Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners to correct crooked teeth and fix bite issues. The trays are virtually invisible and can be easily removed for cleaning and eating.

Dr. Feick started his own practice in 1987. He grew up in Michigan and spent four years in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1983.
