Franklin Foods, World's Fastest-Growing Cream Cheese Company Announces Internship Program to Help Grow and Mentor the Next Generation of Dairy Leaders

Program Helps Students Get a Head Start in Their Careers in Dairy

DELRAY BEACH, FL--(Marketwired - July 16, 2015) - Franklin Foods, Inc., the world's fastest-growing cream cheese company, unveiled today a snapshot of its Summer Internship Program. Paving the way for future leaders in the Dairy industry, the goal of the program is to help grow and mentor the next generation of dairy leaders by giving them a 360 look into the dairy industry to help create the future leaders of the industry; making an impact on the dairy industry at large.

Leveraging Franklin Food's best practices in creating cream cheese products, including the industry's first Greek Cream Cheese, interns work collaboratively with the marketing team on the planning, launch and marketing of a retail consumer product. The program encourages students to get out from behind the desk and into the field where interns work independently in their own markets executing retail consumer programs -- from consumer sampling to working directly with the marketing team to convey product information through social media and press -- interns learn the different sides of how consumer and retail products are launched into the market.

During an 8-10 week period, students participate in four online modules with key Franklin Food team members across sales, procurement and supply chain, food safety and quality and manufacturing. Interns get an inside look at the industry and learn about product development in the dairy industry, working with local farms and suppliers, creating and managing state-of-the-art production facilities and developing best practices in safety and quality. Interns also participate in leadership calls, visit corporate plants and HQ and meet with executives.

"We are thrilled to announce the Franklin Foods Internship Program and help mentor and grow the future leaders of the dairy industry," said Jon Gutknecht, CEO of Franklin Foods. "We take great pride in our program and our interns. We commend them on their hard work and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to the dairy industry by creating the leaders of tomorrow."

Applicants are judged by a Franklin Foods selection committee that includes Jon Gutknecht, CEO, Nord Brue, Chairman, and Rocco Cardinale, VP of Marketing. Interns are selected based upon a thorough screening process.

The 2015 Franklin Foods interns include:

Anthony LaMacchia from Grinnell College
Kelly Arcand from Arizona State University
Evan Kurtz from Arizona State University
Jack Tusa from Ole Miss University
Mike Horton from Pinnacle High School in Arizona
