Franklin Templeton Investments Introduces Eight Mutual Funds to Chilean Market

Company's First Local SICAV Fund Registrations in South America

SANTIAGO, CHILE--(Marketwire - November 16, 2010) - Franklin Templeton today announced that it had publicly registered eight mutual funds(1) in Chile, representing the company's first local SICAV (offshore) fund offerings in South America. The eight funds, which cover equity and fixed income as well as US, global and emerging markets include:

  • FTIF Franklin European Growth Fund
  • FTIF Franklin Mutual Beacon Fund
  • FTIF Franklin Strategic Income Fund
  • FTIF Franklin U.S. Opportunities Fund
  • FTIF Templeton Asian Growth Fund
  • FTIF Templeton BRIC Fund
  • FTIF Templeton Frontier Markets Fund
  • FTIF Templeton Global Total Return Fund

The Franklin Templeton Investment Funds (FTIF) are Luxembourg-registered SICAV open-ended mutual funds available to offshore investors. Since March 2010, Franklin Templeton has had the largest single SICAV umbrella available among global asset managers(2). The eight funds listed above will be distributed through LarrainVial, a multifaceted Chilean financial services company.
