Franklin Wireless Introduces Its CDMA Wireless Modem Products Based on Qualcomm's 1xEVDO Solution

SAN DIEGO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 5, 2005 -- Franklin Wireless Corporation (OTC: FKLT) (www.fklt.com), an emerging developer/manufacturer/marketer of wireless communications devices and applications, announced today that the company is entering into wireless modem business with the introduction of a USB-type wireless modem and a standalone modem based on Qualcomm's CDMA 1xEVDO solution. In addition, the company unveiled its newly updated website that incorporates the new business models.

"We are extremely pleased to introduce our CDMA wireless modem product offerings for the U.S. and Latin American markets. Both CDU 550 and CDU 550S are market-ready products based on Qualcomm's 1xEVDO chipset solution, and they are capable of transferring data at a speed up to 2.4Mbps. To our knowledge, our CDMA USB dual-band (800MHz and 1900MHz) wireless modem is the first one of its kind for the U.S. and Latin American markets. Our USB product is the perfect solution for Apple notebooks, which currently do not have the PCMCIA slots. It could also be a replacement product for desktops that currently utilize the DSL line," stated Peter Won, Vice President of Engineering.

"Our standalone modem is also a dual-band (800MHz and 1900MHz) version, which is suitable for the U.S. market as a DSL replacement. However, it is most suitable for countries where wire-line deployment is not cost-efficient and the existing infrastructure is inadequate in both coverage and capacity. Both products are currently being tested by several Latin American CDMA carriers, one 1st-tier U.S. CDMA carrier, and a major U.S. government agency," Mr. Won added.

"We do not expect 6-digit quantity orders on our new product offerings. As a new entrant in this rapidly growing wireless modem space, we would have accomplished a lot just by getting our foot into this market space and having our products launched by major wireless carriers in the Western Hemisphere. Although most of our competitors in this space have PCMCIA card product offerings, we are trying to enter the market with USB-type products, which previously have been neglected by our competitors. As Mr. Won has already stated, our dual-band USB EVDO modem is the first of its kind to our knowledge," stated Mr. Ha Jin Juhn, the company's CEO.

Franklin Wireless's CDU 550 and CM 5500SU are CDMA-based 1xEV/DO wireless modems designed for the North American/Latin American markets. More detailed information on these two products can be found on the company's website.
