The Fraser Institute and Donner Canadian Foundation Awards: Media Advisory-Canada's Largest Non-Profit Awards to be Presented; $70,000 in Cash Awards

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 16, 2005) - This year's recipients of the eighth annual Donner Canadian Foundation Awards for Excellence in the Delivery of Social Services (Donner Awards) will be announced on Wednesday, November 23 in Toronto. The Donner Awards are Canada's largest non-profit recognition program.

Awards totaling $70,000 will be announced at a celebratory event attended by The Honourable James K. Bartleman, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. This year, 842 applications were received from 652 organizations across Canada.

Awards will be presented to the top organization in each of nine categories of social service delivery, while the prestigious William H. Donner Award for Excellence will be awarded to the highest performer overall. The Peter F. Drucker Award for Non-Profit Management will also be presented to a non-profit organization with a consistent record of excellence and innovation in management and service delivery.
