The Fraser Institute: Former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney Discusses His New Book at Fraser Institute Reception

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 11, 2007) - Media representatives are invited to a VIP reception with former prime minister Brian Mulroney to celebrate the launch of his new book, Memoirs: 1939 - 1993, on September 25 hosted by The Fraser Institute at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver.

Mulroney's much talked-about book details his rise from a working-class family in Baie-Comeau and his immersion in the world of Ottawa politics that culminated with leading the Conservative Party to power and his two terms as Canada's prime minister.

The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney became Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada in 1983. In September 1984, he led the Progressive Conservative Party to victory becoming Canada's 18th prime minister. He was re-elected with a majority government four years later, becoming the first Canadian Prime Minister in 35 years to win successive majority governments. Since retiring from office in 1993, he has worked as a lawyer with Ogilvy Renault in Montreal, and on the boards of a number of major companies.

Please note: Mr. Mulroney will address the reception but will not be available for media interviews and will not be taking questions from the media.
