The Fraser Institute: Media Advisory; Could Canada Establish a Guaranteed Annual Income Program? New Study Coming Tuesday, January 6

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Jan. 5, 2015) - On Tuesday, January 6, the Fraser Institute will release a new study examining the feasibility of implementing a Guaranteed Annual Income program across Canada.

As commonly envisioned, a Guaranteed Annual Income (GAI) program would provide individuals or families unconditional cash transfers to ensure a minimum annual income and would replace Canada's complex income support system with a single program administered by one level of government.

The Practical Challenges of Creating a Guaranteed Annual Income in Canada outlines the obstacles to establishing such a program and assesses the likelihood of overcoming these challenges.

A news release with additional information will be issued via Marketwired at 6:30 a.m. (Eastern) on Tuesday, January 6.
