Fraser Institute Media Advisory: How Will an Unprecedented First Nations Court Decision Affect Economic Development Across Canada? New Study Coming Tuesday, Nov. 17

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 16, 2015) - On Tuesday, Nov. 17, the Fraser Institute will release a new study dissecting the recent Supreme Court of Canada decision, allowing two B.C. First Nations to file for damages against aluminum industry giant Rio Tinto.

The study, Economic Development in Jeopardy? Implications of the Saik'uz First Nation and Stellat'en First Nation v. Rio Tinto Decision, spotlights how the decision opens the door for future aboriginal title litigation by First Nations groups against private parties-litigation previously only brought against provincial and federal governments.

A news release with additional information will be issued via Marketwired on Tuesday November 17 at 5:30 a.m. (EST).
