The Fraser Institute: Media Advisory; Study Comparing Government and Private-Sector Compensation in Canada Coming Thursday, June 4

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - June 3, 2015) - The Fraser Institute will release a new study comparing government and private-sector compensation nationwide across Canada on Thursday, June 4.

The study, Comparing Government and Private Sector Compensation in Canada, calculates the "wage premium" (i.e., the degree to which public-sector wages exceed private-sector wages for similar positions) for all government employees (federal, provincial, and local) and private-sector workers nationwide. The study also compares four components of non-wage benefits: pensions, early retirement, job security and absence rates.

A news release with additional information will be issued via Marketwired at 5:30 a.m. (Eastern) on Thursday, June 4.

The full report will also be available as a free PDF download at www.fraserinstitute.org.

Jason Clemens is in Toronto and available to media. Charles Lammam is in Vancouver.
