VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - June 01, 2016) - On Thursday, June 2, the Fraser Institute will release a new study scrutinizing the widely-held perception that expanding the Canada Pension Plan (CPP)-with increased mandatory contributions and benefits-will help low-income seniors.
With the federal and provincial finance ministers poised to discuss CPP expansion at a meeting next month in Vancouver, the study identifies seniors who are most likely to live in a state of very low income and whether or not they'll benefit from an expanded CPP.
