The Fray's Isaac Slade Stops by Local Elementary School to Deliver Donation of $40,000 Worth of Instruments for Music Program

The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation Program Supports Music Education

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - May 24, 2012) -

A donation of $40,000 worth of musical instruments to Pennington Elementary School from the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation and Colorado Public Radio, thanks to support from The Anschutz Foundation. There will be a presentation at the school, with the students there to receive and play the instruments for the first time.

The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation donates new and refurbished musical instruments to underserved schools nationwide, in an effort to give youngsters the many benefits of music education, help them to be better students and inspire creativity and expression through playing music. Since 1996, 15,000 instruments have been donated to 1,260 music programs across the country benefiting thousands of students. More information can be found at

Colorado Public Radio is a community-driven institution committed to promoting excellence in music education throughout Colorado. With the support of The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, Colorado Public Radio has held three annual instrument drives, collecting more than 1,500 instruments from listeners, repairing them and awarding them to deserving schools and music programs throughout the state.
