Fred DuFresne Joins Augme Technologies' Advisory Board

Renowned Inventor and Intellectual Property Strategist to Play Key Advisory Role

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Jun 8, 2011) - Augme Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: AUGT), a technology and services leader in interactive media marketing that offers the only patented and innovative end-to-end mobile marketing platform, today announced that Fred DuFresne has joined its Advisory Board with a primary focus on enforcing and monetizing Augme's intellectual property rights.

Fred DuFresne is currently a Senior Advisor at ipCapital Licensing Company and has a proven track record as an inventor, educator, and entrepreneur. Mr. DuFresne founded and developed numerous companies including Interactive Systems (1976), Knowledge Based Technologies (1993), WebMate Technologies, (1996),, Inc. (1998) and CeriNet (2002). He joined Digital Equipment Corporation when it acquired his company, Interactive Systems, and subsequently held numerous positions at Digital in software engineering, marketing, engineering systems, and education support systems. He also had primary responsibility for the MARC and MARS product lines, including the mainframe class systems. Subsequently, he held hardware, software and management positions with the groups responsible for many of Digital's advanced products, including DecTalk, Calyx, Gigi, and the Rainbow personal computer. In his last post with Digital, Mr. DuFresne was responsible for the management of all intellectual property previously held by Philips Computer Systems, working directly with Digital's legal staff to identify and analyze the acquired patent portfolio.

After leaving Digital, Mr. DuFresne founded one of the first Internet development companies, WebMate Technologies, which was responsible for the initial web presence of numerous high profile companies, including State Street Bank, EG&G, The New England Journal of Medicine, WCVB TV Boston, and The Boston Athletic Association (organizers of the Boston Marathon).

Mr. DuFresne is the inventor of US patent No. 5,835,712 and others involving server-side processing of web pages. He has been the recipient of significant industry accolades and was named by Interactive Week as "one of the most influential people" involved in the creation of the Internet. In addition he has extensive experience in the health care and medical device fields, having developed cancer treatment regimen administrative support tools, drug interaction detection systems, and an intravenous device selector. Mr. DuFresne was the principal researcher for US patent No. 6,012,034, entitled "System and method for selecting an intravenous device," now owned by Becton Dickinson, and he has worked for Glaxo Wellcome Inc., Wellcome Oncology, SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals and Roche Laboratories. A frequent speaker on Internet-related subjects, Mr. DuFresne has authored two presentation books, "The Internet and Your Business -- Making Money on the Superhighway" (1994) and "Providing Public Services on the Superhighway" (1995).

On June 6, 2011, Fred DuFresne was recognized by the Open Invention Network as a Distinguished Inventor for his development of the WebMate Foundation, a server-side scripting software that predates ASP
from Microsoft, JSP from Sun/Oracle, and PHP from the open source community.

Mr. DuFresne earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics with Honors, from Boston State College.
