Free ADA Compliancy Website Scans

BoIA Helps Companies Start to Understand Their Website's ADA Accessibility Compliancy

PROVIDENCE, RI--(Marketwired - March 24, 2016) - The Bureau of Internet Accessibility (BoIA) is pleased to announce that they are offering free, automated scans of websites to help companies begin to obtain an understanding of how their website performs in regards to meeting the Americans for Disabilities Act (ADA) Standards for Accessibility.

In the scans performed using BoIA's A11Y® platform, a sample of each website gets run through algorithms pertaining to each Principle as defined in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, a universal standard established to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. What is delivered is a graded report of the four principles of WCAG 2.0: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable and Robust. Although a human review of the website is required for a compliance audit, this report can be a conversation starter as it's a representative indicator as to how the website measures up to the accessibility guidelines.

BoIA created this free service with the goal of assisting companies in answering the question "I don't know where to begin" when they first start the journey into digital accessibility. BoIA's services include automated and manual website auditing, accessibility consulting and ongoing support, to name a few.

To perform a scan of a website, visit www.boia.org and enter a URL (web address). The information you enter into the system is confidential and not shared with anyone except for BoIA, who is available to answer your questions or offer further assistance.
