Free Mother's Day Parking on Seattle's Waterfront

Parking Ambassadors and Mobile Website Guide the Way

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - April 28, 2014) - This Mother's Day (May 11, 2014), enjoy four hours of free parking at Seattle's waterfront when you take Mom out to brunch and a spin on the Seattle Great Wheel, or a visit to the Aquarium and a trip on an Argosy cruise. Between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., nine participating waterfront businesses will be offering their guests a voucher for free parking at several nearby garages.

To make the day even more perfect for Mom, new parking ambassadors will be available along the waterfront to help guide drivers to participating garages.

"Mother's Day is one of the busiest days of the year on the waterfront and this free parking makes it even easier for people to come on down to enjoy it," says Bob Donegan of Ivar's. "People will find the streets have changed with seawall work, so the Parking Ambassadors will be out to make it pleasant for all who visit."

WSDOT and its partners have also launched DowntownSeattleParking.com, an interactive, mobile-friendly website, with hours and rates for cheap and easy-to-find parking in Pioneer Square and the Waterfront. Be sure to check the website for Mother's Day parking details (also below).

The program focuses on helping maintain the vitality of Pioneer Square and the waterfront during construction. More information is available at DowntownSeattleParking.com.
