Mercury Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY) shares spiked 5.95 percent on more than four times the average daily volume Wednesday to close at $8.19 a share. The company swung to a GAAP net income of $0.8 million, or $0.03 per diluted share, for the second quarter of fiscal 2013, from a net loss of $4.8 million, or $0.16 per share, in the previous quarter.

Ixia (NASDAQ: XXIA) shares declined 11.90 percent on more than three times the average daily volume Wednesday to close at $14.51 a share. The company reported revenues of $122.8 million for the first quarter of 2013, a decrease of 2.46 percent when compared the preceding quarter.
