Freemans - Celebrating 100 years of Trends

LONDON, ENGLAND--(CCNMatthews - March. 2, 2005) -

A brief history

You may not believe it but Freemans is 100 years old in 2005! Freemans
has been bringing style to you doorstep since 1905 and continues to be
at the forefront of British fashion and homes. From low-key beginnings
in a terraced house in Clapham, a gas-lit London suburb, the co-founders
each put in Pounds Sterling 100 and opened the business.

In those days, people were on very low incomes and joined clubs to save
a shilling a week to buy clothes. From this primitive form of credit,
Freemans mail order was formed, supplying a catalogue of clothing and
household goods to anyone who wished to form a club. All orders had to
be signed by the husband in the household!

Business flourished from the start and after a year Freemans could no
longer be contained in its cramped premises and the move to Clapham Road
was made, where Freemans still resides. Freemans' long history in London
is a testament to the loyalty of its customers and staff; some have
worked in the business their entire working lives!

The Spring/Summer 2005 Freemans catalogue is bursting with all the
latest fashions and some of the most sought after brands. Freemans is
now offering its biggest ladieswear collection ever featuring The Look,
Today's Woman, Morgan, Warehouse, Roxy, Firetrap, O'Neill and Boxfresh.

This season's gypsy inspired collections ooze femininity with both long
& short tiered skirts teamed with tie-dye camisoles, jewelled mules and
big belts. The colours feature different combinations with turquoise and
brown sitting next to burnt orange.

The nautical look makes welcome return with duck-egg stripe cropped
pants paired with a white fine knit. For a girlie look, team a navy &
white stripe top with a flared white skirt & cute ballet pumps
Men can choose from a huge selection of top name brands, Hilfiger,
Replay, Firetrap and FCUK to name a few. The tailoring is sharp, shirts
are crisp and footwear is very stylish.

Children age 0 - 16 can mirror these looks with brands and designer
names like Diesel, DKNY and Bench. Freemans also holds an extensive
range schoolwear so you don't have to fight your way around the high
