Fresh Mangos Add Latin Flair to Holiday Meals

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - October 1, 2009) - This holiday season, learn how to create a sumptuous mango-inspired feast and do something good for others while you are at it. The National Mango Board and Ingrid Hoffmann have partnered with students at the Food and Finance High School in New York City to show at-home cooks unique ways to spice up holiday dishes with fresh mango.

Watch the video of Ingrid Hoffmann preparing her recipe for Snapper Pockets with Mango-Cilantro Mojo and for every time it is viewed on the Web site or YouTube Channel, the National Mango Board will donate $1, up to $5,000, to the Food and Finance High School.

"It's incredible to see the education through culinary teachings these students receive in such a unique high school environment," says Wendy McManus, director of marketing for the National Mango Board. "We are pleased to help support the future chefs and culinary luminaries that may one day come out of the Food and Finance High School."

The Food and Finance High School has been a cause supported by Ingrid Hoffmann for four years and she has created a signature mango meal to help this partnership and donation. For starters, her Mango Holiday Dip featuring fresh mango puree, spices, roasted red pepper and creamy goat cheese served with fresh chips or grilled bread is sure to please the palettes of holiday guests. Next, the star dish of the donation video, Snapper Pockets with Mango-Cilantro Mojo are individually portioned snapper filets covered with a creamy, mango mojo sauce and then wrapped and cooked in parchment packets. Serve one packet to each of your guests and it will be just like opening their own "present" at dinnertime! Paired with Ingrid's sweet Mango Coconut Rice this is a meal to celebrate.
