Friends Are Most Popular With Sony Ericsson Facebook Fans

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Nov. 17, 2010) - A poll on the official Sony Ericsson Facebook page has revealed that fans are more likely to text their friends then they are their parents, boyfriends or girlfriends.

The lighthearted poll was recently conducted on the official Sony Ericsson Facebook page, which boasts over 2.1 million fans. Fans were asked through a simple status update: "Who do you text the most? Your boyfriend / girlfriend? Parents? Friends?" as part of the weekly Quickfire Survey.

One of the most popular features of the weekly content published as status updates on the Sony Ericsson Facebook page, the Quickfire Survey generated approaching 1,000 fan comments and almost 2,500 likes in a short period of time.

The results of the survey showed that the "Friends" option was the runaway winner, with 60% of fans indicating that they text their friends more regularly than the other options available.

"Girlfriends" beat "Boyfriends" into second place, with 20% of the vote compared to 12.5% respectively, with the "Parents" option only registering 7.5%.

In collating the results, the answers "Wife" or "Husband" were included within the "Girlfriend" or "Boyfriend" category, but despite semantics, the whole category of partners only managed a combined total of 32.5%, dwarfed significantly by the respondents for the "Friends" category.

In addition to some light-hearted fan responses, suggesting that they text their dogs and cats most regularly, additional suggestions not included within the overall results included siblings, grandparents, bosses and customers.
