Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter Hosts 10th Annual Black Tie & Tails Gala

Your Attendance Is Requested for This Key Fund-Raising Event for Homeless Animals

DEARBORN, MI--(Marketwire - September 23, 2010) - The Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter (FFDAS) is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their annual Black Tie & Tails fundraiser dinner and auction event on Friday, October 22, at the historic Dearborn Inn. Focusing on this diamond anniversary, the event features the elegance of bling, glitz and glamour. A sparkling facet this year is the opportunity for one winning attendee to take home a $4,000 diamond bracelet, courtesy of Dearborn Jewelers of Plymouth. The bracelet is 14K white-and-gold link featuring 72 round brilliant cut diamonds.

Black Tie & Tails is the premier fund-raising event hosted by FFDAS and is becoming one of the most unique animal-welfare benefits in Southeast Michigan. Since its inception Black Tie has raised over $760,000, which has directly benefited 20,000 rescues. In 2009, more than 250 guests attended and raised over $117,000. This year, the organization strives to achieve $125,000 in much needed funds for the shelter, as a steady stream of homeless kittens and puppies continue to flow through its doors.

This elegant evening for four-footed friends includes: a champagne reception, hors d' oeuvres, dinner, dancing, silent and live auctions, and a full, red-carpet staging area for sponsors and adoptable animals called the Paws Promenade. It is sponsored this year by Mary Ann Wright and Bob Sayles. Special guest stars include honorary co-chairs Congressman John and Mrs. Debbie Dingell, Detroit Lions quarterback Drew Stanton and Mrs. Kristin Stanton and Detroit Lions long snapper Don and Mrs. Alix Muhlbach.

Tickets for Black Tie & Tails are $175 per person. The event will take place from 7 p.m. until midnight at the historic Dearborn Inn. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Dearborn Animal Shelter at (313) 943-2697, or on-line at All Black Tie & Tails proceeds support shelter operations and community and animal-related programs.
