Indoors or outside. Classical, jazz, pop or R'n'B. Whatever your listening preferences, you'll find the perfect listening companion from the latest range of high-performance Sony headphones. From the high-performance MDR-Z1000 recording studio reference model to the mobility-focused EX Series, every headphone by Sony is designed for comfortable wear and pristine sound quality with any music source.

MDR-Z1000 professional monitor headphone: taking recording studio quality sound to the next level

Designed to address the rigorous demands of high-end studio production, the MDR-Z1000 represents a new pinnacle in professional headphone design.

The MDR-Z1000 draws on decades of professional audio know-how by Sony, fusing innovative design and cutting-edge materials to deliver uncompromised performance in critical production environments.

Ultra-wide range HD (High Definition) Driver Units employ a newly-developed LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer) diaphragm. This exceptionally light, rigid material dramatically reduces resonance to deliver exceptionally clear, natural mid to high frequencies. Extended wear comfort is maximised by a rigid, weight-saving magnesium alloy housing that damps resonance for smooth bass and clear mid/high highs.

Newly-developed Noise Isolation Earpads are cushioned with low-repulsion urethane foam. This ensures a comfortable fit while minimising sound leakage by eliminating gaps between earpad and the wearer's head. Isolation is boosted further by a new housing gasket that dramatically cuts inside/outside leakage.

As a further refinement, the headphone cord uses 7N Grade (99.99999%) OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) conductors that minimise transmission losses for pristine sound quality.

MDR-ZX series: recording studio quality sound that's always with you

Upgrade the sound of your iPod or Walkman even further with the stylish MDR-ZX Series of Sony headphones that make an ideal step-up from your MP3 player's headphones. All ZX models feature a closed-type design to minimise leakage -- keeping your sounds more personal when you're in a crowded bus or train carriage on the morning commute.

The range-toping MDR-ZX700 features newly-developed 50mm driver units, noise isolation earpads and pressure-relieving urethane cushion earpads for a comfortable fit. It's joined by ZX500, ZX300 and ZX100 models that offer superlative audio quality with any music source, teamed with extended listening comfort and impressive, ultra-modern looks.

MDR-EX Series: great sound on the move

The popular MDR-EX Series of in-ear phones offers no less than seven models to suit any listener who's on the move -- from casual music-lovers to the most committed audiophile.

The flagship of the EX Monitor Series, the MDR-EX1000 offers the ultimate performance boost for your MP3 player. Painstakingly crafted from the finest materials, it features a Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) film diaphragm with newly developed 16mm driver unit. The earphone's slim magnesium housing reduces weight for comfortable wear, while damping unwanted resonance to deliver exceptionally smooth bass and clear mid-high frequencies.

Like the MDR-Z1000, the headphone cord of the EX1000 uses 7N Grade (99.99999%) OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) for uncompromised signal transmission. The result is exceptionally detailed, ultra-high resolution sound that's a match for the finest recording studio reference headphones. A secure, comfortable fit is assured by an over-the-ear cord design and silicone/urethane earbuds with a rigid silicone core that offer excellent attenuation of ambient noise.

The MDR-EX510LP is a vertical in-the-ear style headphone that's designed with a clear focus on sound quality. The large, vertically-mounted 13.5mm driver unit allows delivery of rich, powerful sound while maintaining a high-comfort fit over extended listening periods. For greater wear security, a newly-designed earphone structure reduces the risk of the headphone dropping out of your ears while in use. Inside, a new multiple-layer diaphragm uses a specially-formulated ABS plastic that cuts unwanted resonance and vibration for a smooth, exceptionally articulated bass response and sparklingly clear mid-highs.

The full EX range is complemented by colourful EX50 and EX40 and models that offer full, rich sound with excellent isolation and comfortable wear at a competitive price for every music lover.

Specially designed to match your iPod/iPhone/iPad, the colourful new DR-EX13iP features a handy in-line remote for fingertip control of player functions and volume.

The latest range of closed-type and in-ear Sony headphones is available from March 2011.
