From Women's Rights to Feminist Wrongs: New National "Men's Issues" Organization Hosts Journalist Barbara Kay

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 24, 2012) - Award-winning journalist and National Post Columnist Barbara Kay will present "From Women's Rights to Feminist Wrongs: Contempt for Men in Contemporary Society" for the Men's Issues Awareness Campaign, a project of the Canadian Association for Equality, on Thursday, March 1, 2011 at the University of Toronto.

"Through public education, we hope to advance awareness of issues facing boys and men," explained Spokesperson Iain Dwyer. "This is not an attack on the feminist enterprise. We aim to work towards the same goals of inclusion, diversity and equality."

Misleading claims by some feminist activists focus discussions of violence exclusively on female victims, ignore the plight of boys in schools, and have biased family court decisions away from fathers.

Focusing on that latter threat, Kay will argue they have served to reinforce sexism.

WHEN: 7:00 p.m., March 1, 2012

WHERE: Wallberg Building, Room 116, 184 College St., University of Toronto
