Front Street Capital Raises More Than $225,000 for Joe's Team, Benefiting Princess Margaret Hospital

Front Street Capital Named Top Fundraising Team for 2011

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 15, 2011) -

Attention: Business, lifestyle and city editors

On June 22, 2011, hundreds of key players in the Canadian financial and philanthropic community gathered at C Lounge to celebrate the beginning of summer while raising awareness and funds for Joe's Team Triathlon, benefiting Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH).

To assist in helping Joe's Team surpass its $1 million fundraising goal, Front Street Capital (FSC) hosted the inaugural Front Street Capital Summer Solstice party, with all proceeds going directly to the Joe's Team Triathlon, funding cancer care and treatment at PMH.

The Summer Solstice event and team fundraising efforts raised in excess of $225,000.

"We are so pleased with the level of support we've received from our friends, family, and generous peers in the industry, and we are incredibly excited to be named the top fundraising team at this year's Joe's Team Triathlon. It's a real testament to the commitment our sponsors and supporters have in honouring the vision and spirit of our friend, Joe Finley," said Norm Lamarche, FSC partner and senior portfolio manager. "We are thrilled to have played a significant role in helping Joe's Team raise $1.375 million this year," he added.

About Joe's Team:

Joe's Team was founded on the basis of Joe Finley's unbelievable human spirit. After Joe's diagnosis with cancer and a mere six months after his first of many highly invasive cancer therapies, Joe completed his first sprint triathlon. Joe's desire for others to experience the same sense of accomplishment inspired him to approach the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation (PMHF) and set in motion Joe's Team Triathlon.

In its first four years, Joe's Team has raised $3.2 million, making this the largest third party fundraiser for the Princess Margaret Hospital and the third largest fundraiser of any kind for the hospital. All proceeds go directly to fund the next breakthrough. In fact, The Head and Neck Translational Research Program at the PMH was founded by the fundraising endeavours of Joe's Team. This was the fifth anniversary of Joe's Team and the first year that Joe did not participate. Sadly, after a difficult battle with cancer, Joe passed away last fall.
