Front Street Capital's Summer Solstice Raises More Than $150,000 for Joe's Team, Benefiting Princess Margaret Hospital

Front Street Capital Launches Innovative Fundraising Event for Toronto's Financial Community

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 21, 2011) - On June 22, 2011, hundreds of key players in the Canadian financial and philanthropic community will gather at C Lounge to celebrate the beginning of summer while raising awareness and funds for Joe's Team Triathlon, benefiting Princess Margaret Hospital.

To assist in helping Joe's Team reach the $1 million fundraising goal, Front Street Capital (FSC) is hosting the inaugural Front Street Capital Summer Solstice, with all proceeds going directly to the Joe's Team Triathlon, funding cancer care and treatment at the Princess Margaret Hospital.

The Summer Solstice event has already raised funds in excess of $150,000.

"We are so pleased with the level of support we've received from our generous peers in the industry, and we are incredibly excited to have so many FSC employees -- more than 80% -- participating in this year's Joe's Team Triathlon. It's a real testament to the vision and spirit of my friend Joe Finley," said Norm Lamarche, FSC partner and senior portfolio manager. "We are dedicated to helping Joe's Team raise an ambitious goal of $1 million this year," he added.

About Joe's Team:

Joe's Team was founded on the basis of Joe Finley's unbelievable human spirit. After Joe's diagnosis with cancer and a mere six months after his first of many highly invasive cancer therapies, Joe completed his first sprint triathlon. Joe's desire for others to experience the same sense of accomplishment inspired him to approach the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation (PMHF) and set in motion Joe's Team Triathlon.

In just four years, Joe's Team has raised $3.2 million, making this the largest third party fundraiser for the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) and the third largest fundraiser of any kind for the hospital. All proceeds go directly to fund the next breakthrough. In fact, The Head and Neck Translational Research Program at the PMH was founded by the fundraising endeavours of Joe's Team. This is the fifth anniversary of Joe's Team and the first year that Joe will not be participating. Sadly, after a difficult battle with cancer, Joe passed away last fall.

Tickets to the Front Street Summer Solstice event ($45 in advance or $60 at the door) are available online at http://joesteam.ca/fsc-solstice/. Questions about media, tickets, and/or sponsorships should be directed to Tammy Cash, 416-915-2457.
