Frost & Sullivan Award Conferred on Visonic for Exceptional Growth Leadership in European Intrusion Detection Systems Market

Outstanding Product and Service Quality, Along With Continuous Innovation, Cement Visonic's Position as a Growth Leader

LONDON--(Marketwire - Oct 26, 2011) - The 2011 Frost & Sullivan European Growth Leadership Award in Intrusion Detection Systems is presented to Visonic Group. Continuous innovation, high product quality and professional customer service have been the hallmarks of Visonic's stellar market performance.

"Since its inception in 1973, Visonic has demonstrated four decades of pioneering innovation," notes Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Krzysztof Rutkowski. "In 1975, it introduced the world's first solid state control panel, based on CMOS technology. In 1982, it launched the world's first wireless intrusion alarm system."

Since then, Visonic has been continuing its innovation not only in terms of technology and products, but also in production methods. In 1985, it became the first in the industry to deploy surface mount technology (SMT)-based manufacturing. In 2000, it pioneered Just in Time (JIT) Kanban production.

2009 was another hallmark year as Visonic introduced the industry's most advanced wireless outdoor detector, based on a patented technology that virtually eliminates the possibility of false alarms.

In the beginning of 2011, Visonic unveiled its revolutionary new PowerG wireless technology. The company has since released the PowerMaster family of alarm systems with numerous PowerG-based panels, detectors, and solutions.

"PowerG technology successfully addresses the many challenges created by the industry's rapid shift to wireless; it meets the need for enhanced security, lower installation cost and time and reduced on-site maintenance," remarks Rutkowski. "It also provides support for advanced applications that address the high volume of false alarms and lack of situational awareness."

PowerG technology is robust and reliable. Installers can use a single Visonic system to cover virtually any premise regardless of its size, avoiding the need for repeaters or hard wired devices to extend the range. This helps save on installation time and costs.

"PowerG supports battery life of up to 8 years in most devices, avoiding the need for frequent battery replacement," adds Rutkowski. "This, together with the fact that many maintenance functions can be performed remotely, makes the technology environment-friendly."

PowerG has been designed to handle a substantially high bandwidth, enabling the network to transmit large amounts of data in a short time to support advanced applications. One such application is RealAlarm -- Visonic's Visual Alarm Verification solution.

"RealAlarm delivers real-time images of alarm events enabling central stations to gain better control over intrusion monitoring," explains Rutkowski. "It is an ideal solution for dealing with false alarms and increasing situational awareness."

Outstanding customer service has also underlined Visonic's market success. The company delivers customised modules to suit individual end-user requirements. Visonic is able to address needs for customisation, ranging from colours, designs and features to the prompts and voice language that are programmed into the panels.

"Visonic products are designed, developed and manufactured in accordance with the highest quality standards," concludes Rutkowski. "The company employs the latest technologies and processes in its manufacturing plant, like Kanban-based JIT and demand flow technology (DFT)."

The Frost & Sullivan Award for Growth Leadership is conferred on a company that has demonstrated excellence in achieving consistent growth in the market.
