Frost & Sullivan Award Recognises Riello UPS for Exceptional Competitive Strategy Innovation

Strategic Initiatives Have Enabled Riello to Attain Consistent Growth in a Mature UPS Market

LONDON--(Marketwire - Oct 3, 2011) - The 2011 Frost & Sullivan Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Competitive Strategy Innovation Award in Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) is presented to RPS S.p.A (better known by the brand name of its products "Riello UPS") The company has displayed competitive strength through its exceptional product line and services, as well as its corporate management. Strategic initiatives have allowed it to attain consistent growth in the mature UPS market.

In the 90's, the Riello brand was well recognised among the electrical distributor community. "Frost & Sullivan research shows that in just over two decades Riello's expertise in an expanded three-phase market is even more significant than its presence in the low power market," remarks Cherian. "This process started with its acquisition of AROS, a three-phase Italian UPS manufacturer in Europe, in 1997. The integration of the two companies was immediately successful and opened a new chapter in the history of Riello, instantly improving its competitive position."

Riello UPS are found in all sectors where power quality and continuity is essential: hospitals, banks and finance, industry, public infrastructure, telecommunications etc. Recently the highest developments have been achieved in the quickly expanding Data Centre market. Realising the potential for high growth in the transportation sector, the company has developed a special expertise in addressing the needs of airports, railways and mass transport systems, in some cases offering customized tailored solutions.

Riello currently has a strong position in the Western European UPS market and has achieved noteworthy growth in emerging markets such as China, India, Russia and the Middle East.
