Frost & Sullivan New Product Innovation Award Presented to JSP Ltd for FilterSpec

LONDON--(Marketwire - March 14, 2011) - The 2011 Frost & Sullivan North America New Product Innovation Award in Personal Protective Equipment is presented to JSP Ltd for FilterSpec. This remarkable product launched in the first half of 2010 uniquely combines safety spectacles and a disposable respiratory protective mask.

The FilterSpec combines the respiratory mask with safety glasses or goggles in such a manner that both the safety devices function efficiently, independently and in absolute harmony as a unit and satisfies the fit test mandated by HSE. The safety spectacles comply with EN 166.1.F standard and the goggle with EN166.1.B.3.4 and the respiratory mask complies with the EN1827 FMP2 standard.

"Apart from the standard benefits of meeting the fit test mandated by the HSE and offering protection from silica, sand and dust at demolition sites, construction sites, flour mills and in industrial applications and processes, FilterSpec also possesses certain value-added features," states Chaudhuri. "For example, the lens used in its safety eyewear is one-piece that ensures optimal coverage, is anti-mist and anti-scratch. The spectacle frame is fully adjustable, ensuring the wearer's comfort."

The respiratory mask holder and filter, including an integral exhaust valve, weigh less than 60 grams and do not create any burden on the wearer, thereby offering complete comfort. The exhale valve offers filter element longevity and reduction in heat and carbon dioxide buildup.

The filter in the respirator offers better than the 94 per cent efficiency requirement of the standard and the NIOSH N95 requirements. It is designed in such a way that the nose piece and straps hold the valve in line with the wearer's nose keeping the internal environment cool and dry and maintaining a secure fit so that the lens remains free from fogging.
