Frost & Sullivan to Participate in 2011 Manufacturing Leadership Summit & PM 100 Awards Program

Manufacturing Conference Unites Top Industry Executives to Share Their Best Practices and Strategies for Today's Global Market

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 29, 2011) - Frost & Sullivan's vice president of industrial automation and process control research, Sath Rao, looks forward to serving as a panel member at the 2011 Manufacturing Leadership Summit taking place May 9 to 11, 2011 in Palm Beach, Florida. The panel, entitled "Unlocking Value: Continuous Improvement of Profitability" will focus on the drive for operational excellence. In the run up to the event, Rao also served as a judge for PM100 Awards, evaluating nominations in the leadership and innovation mastery categories, a subset of the eight broad disciplines which were evaluated for best practices in the industry. The PM100 Awards will be presented at the Manufacturing Leadership Summit.

The 2011 Manufacturing Leadership Summit event will discuss the latest technologies in manufacturing and industrial automation solutions, as well as how customers purchase and utilize those solutions. The conference will also explore means of enhancing operations from the viewpoints of key industry executives to keep up with significant changes and increased competition in the market. This event is a one of a kind gathering, a confluence of progressive manufacturers from around the globe. It is a great opportunity to network and gain an understanding from peer group members as to the challenges currently at play, and how companies are overcoming these challenges and driving productivity improvements.

"Manufacturing innovation is alive and thriving in the U.S.," said Rao. "We are very excited for the future of manufacturing in this country. Progressive manufacturers are looking for innovative ways to reduce energy consumption and cost as well as drive efficiencies through the process. These trends are among several key points evaluated in the Frost & Sullivan automation group's recently published research, "Visi-MAP: Vision of the Future of Manufacturing and Production," which views the dynamism of the market through the Frost & Sullivan 3-C Framework of Challenge themes, which includes competition, collaboration and compliance. The 3-C Framework will help the manufacturing industry reposition itself as central to the CEO's growth agenda. Growth is not just about increasing the top line alone -- it is also about being aligned with corporate objectives to drive operational excellence and productivity gains. Agility and flexibility will be the cornerstone to maintaining the manufacturing edge."

Carrying forward this theme of innovation and excellence, Managing Automation magazine and Manufacturing Executive community editor Jeff Moad will be attending Frost & Sullivan's flagship event, the Growth, Innovation and Leadership (GIL) Congress in San Jose, California on September 11 to 14, 2011, participating in the industrial automation research group's industry track. This track will include presentations on the Visi-MAP vision, as well as critical mega trends that will alter the way we look at manufacturing in the future.
