Frost & Sullivan and TimeSight™ Systems to Unveil Solutions for Reducing Video Surveillance Storage Requirements for High Resolution Camera Deployments by 90%

At ISC East, Frost & Sullivan Analyst Dilip Sarangan to Discuss How Video Lifecycle Management (VLM) Can Make Deploying IP Megapixel Solutions Affordable

MT. LAUREL, NJ--(Marketwire - October 21, 2008) - TimeSight™ Systems, the industry leader in Video Lifecycle Management (VLM), and Frost & Sullivan today announced that Dilip Sarangan, research analyst with the Frost & Sullivan North America Security Practice, will be participating in TimeSight Systems' launch of next generation VLM software at ISC East, October 29-30 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, New York, NY in booth # 1645. Sarangan will be on hand to answer questions regarding escalating costs of high-resolution digital video surveillance storage and provide copies of his recently authored white paper on VLM as a leading technology solution to help solve this looming cost issue.

TimeSight will demonstrate how their VLM solutions enable the 1) elimination of grainy video by using higher resolution technologies such as IP megapixel cameras, 2) closing video security gaps by capturing and storing 100% of video, vs. record on motion only, and 3) increasing security and compliance by lengthening retention time from days to weeks/months; all while reducing storage requirements by up to 90%.

"TimeSight Systems has strategically aligned its product development to immediately address issues that challenge overall megapixel adoption rates in the digital video surveillance industry," said Sarangan. "New technologies from innovators such as TimeSight Systems are needed to keep storage from being the economic inhibitor to the adoption of digital video surveillance as an effective and affordable security asset."

The research completed by Frost & Sullivan reveals that the overall U.S. market for digital video surveillance storage is expected to reach $2.95 billion by 2013. That represents over 40 million terabytes shipped in the next five years, in the U.S. alone. In addition, storage will represent up to 75 percent of the overall budget for an average high-resolution/high-retention video surveillance installation, with the variables depending on the number and type of cameras, frame rates and the duration of video retention needed.

"The ability for TimeSight Systems to remove the cost of storage as a barrier to the adoption of clear, actionable video that can be retained for long periods is as critical as ever as we enter tough economic times where cash is king and people need to lower spending," said Charles Foley, chairman and CEO, TimeSight Systems. "VLM changes the entire economic value proposition of using megapixel cameras by eliminating the barrier of storage costs, paving the way for higher resolution, comprehensive coverage and longer retention."

TimeSight Systems delivered the industry's first commercially available VLM solutions in 2007 to dramatically improve quality and quantity of valuable video data while reducing the storage footprint by 90 percent, all without sacrificing quality or deleting data. The company has continually and consistently achieved this goal by listening to specific customer input around video quality, quantity and of course the associated storage costs and applying VLM principals and solutions. TimeSight Systems' patent-pending technology delivers compression of video surveillance files over time, according to business rules. This approach allows users to embrace high-resolution digital-based video cameras without requiring massive storage capacities.
