Frost & Sullivan's Growth, Innovation & Leadership (GIL) 2011 Malaysia Congress Focuses on Mega Trends

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA--(Marketwire - Apr 12, 2011) - Frost & Sullivan's flagship community of visionaries, innovators and leaders, GIL Global, held its 2011 Malaysian congress on 12 April 2011 at the Sime Darby Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur. This year's annual gathering focused largely on how CEOs and their management teams can further uncover growth opportunities by anticipating and responding to the various industry transformations referred to as 'Mega Trends' emerging around us.

Mr. Aroop Zutshi, Global President & Managing Partner of Frost & Sullivan presented the Growth Partnership Company's perspective on the "6 Platforms of GIL" - Growth, Innovation and Leadership. Mr. Zutshi stated that more than two thirds of CEOs would like to accelerate their growth but find it increasingly difficult to propel above average industry growth rates and even a greater percentage of CEOs grapple with inspiring innovation within their organizations. In his keynote address, participants were enlightened by the various best practice tools and strategies which Mr. Zutshi suggests will enable them to further develop their visionary perspective of the future.

Following this, Mr. Manoj Menon, Partner & Managing Director for Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific expanded on the Top 10 Global Mega Trends and Their Impact on Business, Cultures and Society. In his presentation, Mr. Menon suggested some of the key areas to watch would include an increase in Urbanisation, e-Mobility, Innovating to Zero, New Business Models, and Connected Devices; trends that will influence and shape the world in the coming years.

This year's congress also featured a panel discussion on Leadership - The New Frontiers: Building Sustainable Businesses where industry luminaries Dato' Eddy Leong, Managing Director of Firefly, Mr. Jaffri Ibrahim, Business and & Technology Advisory Vice President of Malaysia Debt Ventures and Mr. Amiruddin Abd Satar, Chief Operations Officer of KPJ Healthcare Bhd along with Mr. Aroop Zutshi, Global President & Managing Partner of Frost & Sullivan discussed the foundation of building sustainable enterprises for the future.

The day progressed to host dedicated tracks in the industries of Healthcare, Financial Services, Oil & Gas, Electronics & Semiconductors, ICT, and Transportation & Logistics. These concurrent business tracks explored the convergence of technology, the rise of mobility, the development of sustainable energy and environment infrastructure, and the effect of Malaysian policies in various industries.

Later in the day, concurrent career tracks titled Corporate Strategy, Marketing, and Innovation/R&D were conducted where delegates networked with cross-industry executives who share functional responsibilities, to benchmark, validate strategy, and share best practices, pitfalls and successes in growth championship.
