Fujitsu Canada Introduces Ultra-Portable Document Scanner

The ScanSnap S1100 Document Scanner Comes With a New Cloud Service Linking Feature so You Can Scan and Share Documents Anywhere

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 6, 2011) - Fujitsu Canada, Inc., the Canadian market leader in document imaging scanners, today introduced the newest addition to its ScanSnap document imaging scanner product lineup. The ScanSnap S1100 ultra-portable scanner with multilingual support is the company's latest easy-to-use one button scan to PDF for Mac or PC.

The new personal scanner offers a fast 7.5 seconds/page speed and answers the call for "easy scanning, anywhere, anytime" with a compact size and weight of only 0.77 lb/350 g, as well as support for bus-powered operation through a single USB cable. The ScanSnap S1100 is ideally suited for business travelers who want a digital productivity tool they can easily pack and carry.

The ScanSnap S1100's Continuous Document Feeding function allows this simplex, single sheet document scanner to smoothly scan two sided, multi-page documents. The versatile scanner can handle paper ranging from 1-inch by 1-inch to as large as 8.5-inch by 34-inches, and can even scan plastic cards such as hospital or membership IDs. With the optional carrier sheet, folded documents up to 11x17 inches are supported.

Seamlessly Link and Save Documents Anywhere to Cloud Services

Fujitsu has given its latest scanner a productivity function that links scanned image data to cloud services, including the Evernote(R) service and the Google docs(TM) program. Now you can easily save your scanned documents to Evernote or Google docs from anywhere through the easy-to-navigate ScanSnap Quick Menu. Additionally, business card data can be organized with the bundled CardMinder(TM) (Windows) and Cardiris(TM) (Mac) business card management software.  A linking function for SalesForce(TM) CRM software is scheduled to be made available through a program update of CardMinder and Cardiris.

Built with Intelligence

As with all ScanSnap scanners, the S1100 offers 'one touch to PDF' simplicity by automating office scanning with features such as auto page size detection, auto page orientation, auto colour detection, blank page deletion and auto deskew.

Rack2-Filer bundle available

A 'Deluxe' version of the ScanSnap S1100 is available bundled with Rack2-Filer™ document filing software. Rack2-Filer makes managing your scanned documents easy and fun by organizing your documents in virtual binders and filing cabinets.
