Fujitsu Ireland Secures an xMatters Relevance Engine to Ensure Their Government Client Will Meet Stringent SLAs

PLEASANTON, CA--(Marketwire - September 14, 2010) - xMatters, inc. (www.xmatters.com), the relevance engine company, today announced that Fujitsu Ireland is utilizing a relevance engine to help keep one of Ireland's top government department's mission critical IT systems online. Partnering with IT services company, Avnet Client Solutions, xMatters has provided Fujitsu Ireland the ability to deliver IT infrastructure information to their customers at the exact time they need it, allowing them to resolve critical events faster.

Due to the essential core functions of Fujitsu Ireland's IT systems, they needed a better, cutting edge notification platform to ensure important information was instantly delivered if there were any technical issues in its client's IT setup.

"Service level agreements (SLAs) are very tight so Fujitsu Ireland needs to be aware of any issues in order to respond," said Martin Cavanagh, service delivery manager, Fujitsu Ireland. "We require a solution that will provide immediate notification through a variety of channels."

Avnet Client Solutions recommended deploying the xMatters (operations) engine (formerly AlarmPoint Systems) as the ideal solution to ensure that Fujitsu Ireland's government client's IT operations would continue to run smoothly by using a relevance engine to send out targeted information about any potential or impending problems.

With the deployment, when an event occurs, the xMatters relevance engine will match relevant information with the right individual by checking roles, profiles, responsibilities, schedules and locations. It delivers relevant information at exactly the right moment to this person and blocks notifications and information that is not pertinent to them.

According to Fujitsu, the benefits of using the xMatters solution are manifold with configurability being central to the whole solution. "It's a very sophisticated piece of software, but it's also very simple to operate and configure," said Cavanagh. "It has been a very good investment and because it works as advertised, we don't need to worry about incidents with our client's IT systems and response times to those issues."

"Government departments have mission critical IT systems and we were delighted to be able to provide Fujitsu Ireland with the capability to improve its IT performance and response times to any potential issues in their clients' IT setup," said John O'Mahoney, business development manager, Avnet Client Solutions. "We will continue to work together with xMatters to ensure Fujitsu has the best and most up-to-date information and notification technology."
