Funeral for Retired Brigadier-General H.E. (Ted) Brown, OBE, OStJ, ED, CD, BA

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Oct. 25, 2014) - The soldiers of the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery (RCA) bade farewell to one of their longest-serving and most storied officers Saturday, at the funeral for Brigadier-General (retired) Harold Edward Brown.

Brigadier-General Harold Edward Brown passed away on October 15th, in his 103rd year. The officers and soldiers of 7th Toronto Regiment (RCA) attended his funeral mass at Toronto's Blessed Sacrament and provided a military procession to accompany his casket to Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A Guard of Honour fired a rifle salute as Brigadier-General Brown was laid to rest.

Brigadier-General Brown served in the Second World War with the 17th Field Regiment RCA and was also Commanding Officer of the 1st Field Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery (RCHA) in Italy and Northwest Europe. Amongst his many accomplishments, Brigadier-General Brown was also a Senior Military Advisor with the International Commission for Supervision and Control, Indo China. He served as the Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel and Honorary Colonel of the 7th Toronto Regiment from 1986-1991.
