Fusion Formatics Aquires the X1000 and Agrees to Sell German RepRap Printers

LONG BEACH, CA--(Marketwired - October 24, 2016) - Fusion Formatics Corporation announced today that it has agreed to be a reseller of the German RepRap line of 3D printers. In connection with that agreement it also announced that it has acquired the German RepRap X1000 large format printer in what is the first such installation in North America. In making the announcement, Howard Fletcher, CEO, said: "Fusion Formatics is pleased to be the only authorized reseller of German RepRap printers on the West Coast. We are also excited about having the X1000. This amazing printer has a build envelope of 1000mm X 800mm X 600mm x/y/z. The ability to print large objects, or multiple copies of smaller objects in a single print, extends the value of our design services and greatly enhances our ability to service our customers' needs."

Dr. Christiane Beyer, Director of Engineering said: "Having the X1000 is an important milestone for our company. It is ideal for printing large molds, tooling and parts for companies in the aerospace and automotive industries. Our core expertise is design for Additive Manufacturing. But customers want to hold and inspect their objects. The design needs of some of our customers have included objects larger than the build envelope of our other printers. With the X1000 that has changed, and we have added another element of value to our core design business."

German RepRap produces a line of high quality, German engineered and manufactured printers installed throughout Europe, India, Asia and Australia where the company has 48 resellers and one subsidiary. The company is now bringing its products to the U.S. with a master distributor in Florida, a reseller in Ohio and now Fusion Formatics in California. The line of printers include the Protos kit intended for home users, the X150 desktop for engineers, the X350 Pro for industrial users and consumers, the large-volume X400 Pro for serious industrial users, and the X1000 for large format prototyping and production. Based in Long Beach, California, Fusion Formatics is a design and engineering firm that also fabricates parts for its clients using a variety of desktop 3D printers. The company also sells printers and related software and provides training on the hardware it sells. The company's core expertise is design for Additive Manufacturing, though being able to print prototypes, tools and parts is an important element of its business. Said Mr. Fletcher: "Fusion Formatics' engineers understand the disruptive and positive impact Additive Manufacturing can have on business models. By designing for Additive Manufacturing, our engineers can make parts lighter, stronger and more efficient, while accelerating development times and reducing costs. They can even design and fabricate parts that cannot be made through traditional processes. Companies that use our services can realize significant benefits".
