SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - May 11, 2011) - Future US, a leading publisher of video gaming digital media properties and magazines, has announced a new series of awards for the video game industry that will debut at the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) held in Los Angeles from June 7-9. For the new Most Valuable Game Awards, powered by Future, editors from four highly-regarded Future media properties will seek video games that provide the highest levels of game play, awarding multiple honors to videogame developers and publishers. The new series of awards include:

  • GamesRadar.com Most Valuable Game Award powered by Future
  • PC Gamer Most Valuable Game Award powered by Future
  • Official Xbox Magazine Most Valuable Game Award powered by Future
  • PlayStation: The Official Magazine Most Valuable Game Award powered by Future

Featuring a highly inclusive judging process and multiple opportunities to submit games for consideration, the Most Valuable Game Awards powered by Future are designed to cast a wide net in searching for award entries.

"With the Most Valuable Game Awards, we are thrilled to launch a new set of awards celebrating everything we love about gaming," said Kelley Corten, VP of Games at Future US. "Our editors will pick winners based on what they enjoy playing most, as well as a number of factors: innovation, creativity, technological achievement, personality and overall craftsmanship."

To enter the competition, game developers and publishers can demonstrate video games to each publication's editorial staff during the pre-E3 awards judging week starting Monday, May 16 in Los Angeles. Judges will review and select 10 winners from each publication and 15 from GamesRadar.com following this round of review. For those video game publishers that can't make it early to Los Angeles, editors will be reviewing video games on the first day of the show. Five additional winners from each publication and 10 from GamesRadar.com will be chosen and announced on Tuesday, June 7 the first day the E3 exhibit floor is open.
