Future US Appoints Simon Cox as Editorial Director for Future Plus

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - March 28, 2011) - Future US, the special-interest media company, today announced the appointment of Simon Cox as Editorial Director for Future Plus, the company's custom publishing division.

In his role as Editorial Director, Cox will lead the continued production and growth for Future Plus' world-class editorial and design solutions for clients including Blizzard, Best Buy, Coats & Clark and more. Cox is working closely with the business development team to develop and pitch creative and timely content solutions to new clients.

Cox is a fifteen-year veteran of the publishing industry, beginning his career at Future UK with the market-leading PC titles PC Gamer and PC Format, before becoming Deputy Editor of the "industry bible," EDGE magazine in 1997. In 1998, he joined Next Generation magazine where he launched the Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine and was also Launch Editor for the music magazine, Revolution. In 2001 Simon launched Xbox Nation (XBN) magazine for Ziff Davis Media and spent the next eight years there, launching GMR Magazine (a joint venture with Electronics Boutique), re-launching Pocket Games Magazine, kick-starting tech magazine SYNC and overseeing the re-designs of some of the biggest magazines in gaming, including EGM, Computer Gaming World and Official PlayStation Magazine.
