G20 Young Entrepreneurs' Alliance Teams With OpenText to Enable Global Entrepreneurial Activity

ISTANBUL, TURKEY--(Marketwire - May 10, 2011) - The G20 Young Entrepreneurs' Alliance (G20 YEA) – the global collective of entrepreneurially minded organizations behind the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit – announced today the continued support of OpenText, Canada's largest software company.

Beginning today, the G20 YEA will globally adopt the in-kind donation of the OpenText Social Workplace digital collaboration platform as a means of creating a secure portal for Alliance members. The social platform will enable document sharing, collaboration and improved communication among the participating organizations around the world.

The partnership is part of OpenText's commitment to education and innovation for global change. The company currently collaborates with universities, institutions, colleges, governments, industry partners, and non-profit organizations to foster education and innovation, and strive to promote the transformative power of technology.

"We are grateful to OpenText for their generous contribution of time and solutions to the Alliance," said Vivian Prokop, founding chair of the Young Entrepreneurs' Alliance and chief executive officer of the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF). "Their commitment to this global movement will facilitate the communication and collaboration that is needed to move forward entrepreneurship around the world and the partnership of a Canadian-based global technology company is critical for our continued growth and momentum."

"Great ideas lead to great innovations but to turn them into great businesses, you need an entrepreneurial mindset," said Tom Jenkins, Executive Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer at OpenText. "We support the G20 Young Entrepreneurs' Alliance because we believe in the importance of fostering entrepreneurship in young people. The G20 YEA echoes a long held philosophy at OpenText: to share knowledge and provide opportunities to teach and to learn from others around the world."

OpenText Social Workplace was first gifted to the YEA at the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit in Toronto in 2010, hosted by CYBF. The product is also currently being used by the G20 leaders.
