Gaming Laboratories International's (GLI(R)) Thomas Bierbach Presents at 2016 Welfare Lottery Industry Information Security Training Conference in China

MACAU, CHINA--(Marketwired - Sep 4, 2016) - Gaming Laboratories International's (GLI®) Director, Lottery and Gaming Practice Thomas Bierbach had the honor of presenting at the 2016 Welfare Lottery Industry Information Security Training Conference in Hohhot, The People's Republic of China recently.

The training conference, organized by the Technology and Research Centre (TRC) of China Welfare Lottery Issuance and Management Centre, was attended by about 100 lottery delegates from all over China. GLI was invited to speak with attendees as a result of recent exchanges with TRC since they also have a laboratory. Bierbach's presentation featured important topics such as information security frameworks for lotteries; ISO 27001:2013 and WLA SCS: 2012; electronic draw systems and RNG security risks; and lottery player protection and retail network security.

GLI Asia Limited's General Manager Client Services Marina Wong said, "It was a great pleasure to attend this important event, and we were honored to have the opportunity to introduce GLI to the conference delegates. We were happy to share information with and also learn from the group who extended the warmest hospitality to GLI."

Bierbach said, "We quickly found common ground on current lottery topics within the Chinese lottery industry and were able to identify several areas where GLI can assist the China Welfare Lottery in achieving their objectives. This connection will be of great mutual benefit, where GLI will add value to the China lottery industry through excellent expert services and by extending GLI's market reach as a truly global lottery expert."

Following the conference, Bierbach, on behalf of GLI, presented a gift to the Technology & Research Centre. Bierbach selected an Inukshuk sculpture. The sculpture is a small replica of a human-made stone landmark used by the Inuit (and other peoples of the Arctic region of North America) for communication and survival. The traditional meaning of Inukshuk is "someone was here" or "you are on the right path."
