Garda First in North America to Provide Clients With SSAE No.16 and CSAE 3416 Certification of Rigorous Controls Safeguarding Their Assets and Information

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 18, 2011) - Garda Cash Logistics, America's premium provider and a subsidiary of Garda World Security Corporation (Garda) (TSX:GW) one of the leading Cash Logistics, Security Solutions and Global Risk Consulting firms in the world, today announced it is the first and only cash logistics company in North America to achieve the new certification that documents Garda's procedures and internal controls for the services it provides to its clients and the systems it maintains to protect their assets and information.

Garda recently issued an audited report on internal controls at its North American facilities for its cash management, currency processing and cash logistics services in compliance with the new certification standards for service organizations – AICPA SSAE No. 16 and CICA CSAE 3416. The client centric culture of service and operational leadership which is central to Garda's philosophy has enabled the company to attain these rigorous standards which provide clients with further third-party assurance that best-in-class compliance, controls and reporting procedures are consistently deployed in order to safeguard the assets and information entrusted to Garda. With 10,000 dedicated service employees, an expanding network of 165 secure transaction processing centers across the United States and Canada, and more than $200 billion of currency processed each year on behalf of its customers, Garda will maintain these high standards throughout its North American operations.

"This new certification reaffirms Garda's unwavering commitment to the highest standards of service and operations excellence that is unparalleled in our industry," says Garda Cash Logistics President and COO Christopher Jamroz. "Garda is the fastest growing currency processing company in North America and we continue to execute our strategy of setting the pace for the cash logistics industry as the leader in risk mitigation, internal controls, reporting transparency, and adherence to strict compliance protocols. As the industry's only SSAE No.16 and CSAE 3416 certified company, Garda is effectively an extension of our clients' risk management discipline with core competence in currency supply chain management"

"These standards certify Garda's undisputed leadership in reporting transparency and rigorous internal controls and compliance protocols," explains Lyse Lehoux, Executive Director, Compliance and Internal Controls at Garda. "Through this independent audited recognition, our clients now have an even greater assurance that Garda is protecting their assets and information and an in-depth understanding of how we provide those services. Constantly enhancing our processes and control environment is a key focus for Garda. This new certification represents a very significant step in reaffirming the trust of our clients."

SSAE No. 16 (Type I or A) is a highly specialized audit conducted in accordance with the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) for reporting on controls at a service organization (SOC 1). CSAE 3416 is a certification issued by the Canadian Standard for Assurance Engagements designed to provide standards and guidance to independent auditors reporting on the internal controls of a service organization.
