Garden City becomes the 152nd local government agency to join the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network. Part of BidNet's national e-procurement solution, the MITN System connects 1,636 departments from 152 local agencies and provides a bid system for vendors looking to do business with local government. BidNet's e-procurement solution includes 15 purchasing systems strategically located throughout the United States. The e-procurement solution provides over 1,000 local government agencies with a purchasing and vendor management solution through its online bid systems.

Garden City joins the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network in September 2015, offering its vendors instant access to RFPs, quotes, addendum and award information. Garden City requests all local vendors join to receive access to its bid opportunities and those of the additional 152 participating local government agencies on MITN. Garden City invites all of its vendors to register on the bid system, www.MITN.Info, or call BidNet's e-procurement solution live support, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. (EST).

Clerk Treasurer Allyson Bettis looks forward to the use of the MITN system to increase its visibility when advertising for the need for services within the City. She feels the system will, "Open us up to many more vendors and streamline our procurement process."

The Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network simplifies the purchasing process for its government agency partners by offering electronic document distribution, electronic bid submission, online vendor management and reporting capabilities to see the reach of an RFP or other solicitation. Garden City joins other participating agencies spread across Michigan, already utilizing the purchasing tools available through the bid system.
