Gartner Acknowledges Redis Labs as a Leader in the 2015 Operational Database Management Systems Magic Quadrant

Redis Labs' Position Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 20, 2015) - Redis Labs, the home of Redis, today announced that Gartner, Inc. has positioned it in the Leaders quadrant of the 2015 Operational Database Management Systems (ODBMS) Magic Quadrant (MQ). Redis Labs has been recognized in this report for the first time for its completeness of vision and ability to execute.

"Redis has become a critical part of the developer workflow for the full spectrum of database users. Enterprises are increasingly turning to Redis Labs for on-premises or cloud Redis deployments to deliver high-performance applications with blazing fast responsiveness, high availability and seamless scalability," said Ofer Bengal, CEO and co-founder of Redis Labs. "We believe Redis Labs' entry into Gartner's 2015 ODBMS MQ leaders quadrant is a testament to the excellence of the unique clustering technology, smooth automation and advanced high availability with auto-failover capabilities that we have developed to extend open source Redis."

This announcement comes after a quarter of incredible growth for the company. In June, Redis Labs closed a $15m Series B funding round led by Bain Capital Ventures and Carmel Ventures to expand its sales and marketing activities. As a further confirmation of Redis Labs' leadership, open source Redis creator Salvatore Sanfilippo joined Redis Labs to lead open source development. Redis Labs products are currently used by tens of thousands of free users and more than 5,300 paying customers, including The Motley Fool, HotelTonight, Bleacher Report and Docker.

Redis Labs also recently introduced innovations that would allow Redis to be run on Flash memory used as a RAM extender, with options to configure RAM: Flash ratios for optimal performance. With the Redis on Flash capability, customers can now enjoy blazing fast, stable high performance at up to 70 percent lower operational costs.

Redis Labs uniquely enhances open source Redis, a data structure store that is used as a database, cache or message broker, with technology that supports datasets of every size; scaling without any performance impact or downtime and with a complete suite of high availability provisions such as in-memory replication across regions, datacenters and clouds. Redis Labs' products, Redis Labs Enterprise Cluster (RLEC) and Redis Cloud, support several high-performance use cases like in-database real-time analytics, message queues, high-speed transactions, data ingestion and social functionality with lower complexity and higher performance than any other SQL or NoSQL database.
