Gaumard Scientific Launches HAL S3201, a Revolutionary Patient Simulator

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - Sep 9, 2011) - Gaumard Scientific, a Florida-based global provider of patient simulators, announced the launch of its HAL® S3201 today. Designed to simulate life-threatening situations, instructors can change HAL's condition using a wireless tablet PC that operates up to 300 meters away, making it ideal for training at points of care.

What makes the HAL S3201 so unique is that health care providers get lifelike feedback using real medical devices such as Osat monitors, BP cuffs, defibrillators, cardiac pacemakers and even ventilators and 12 lead ECG monitors. HAL's revolutionary dynamic airway and lungs allow one to change lung compliance and airway resistance during scenarios so students see humanlike respiratory waveforms on a real ventilator. HAL holds PEEP, triggers the ventilator, and exhales real and measurable CO2. Students can display and interpret HAL's 12 lead ECG using a real 12 lead monitor. Students can choose from the thousands of cardiac rhythms or can create their own with our rhythm editor. An integrated MI module can be utilized to specify the extent of an occlusion, ischemia, or necrosis and the dynamic waveforms displayed using a conventional 12 lead monitor in real time.

Gaumard pioneered simulators providing "point of care" training in 2004 with the introduction of its revolutionary HAL S3000 which eliminated the need for external compressors, wires, and tubing found in traditional simulators. HAL S3201 is supplied with Gaumard's powerful and intuitive GIGA® operating interface which displays a rotating 3D image of HAL in which his tissue layers can be removed showing underlying physiology. Access each area, change physiologic parameters, and HAL's vital signs seamlessly respond. Administer medications using a real needle and syringe. HAL's automatic drug delivery system recognizes the type and amount of simulated medication. HAL's vital signs respond appropriately, are displayed on a fully configurable vital signs monitor, and an activities log records each intervention.
